For the good of the dance
by Markie Bee
Those who do not know their history are doomed to repeat it. How much
Steppers history do you know? I'm not a historian, but I may know more
than some and less than others. That may be your
case
too. Everyone's knowledge is unique. Not too long ago, Terrance Pratt (chisteppers.com)
hit on what I called, "A fantastic Idea" by documenting The World's
Largest Steppers Contest from the beginning. The question came to me,
what if everyone had a place to share historic bits and pieces (hope I
can use those words Terrance) about the dance? I mean why can't we use
everyone's knowledge of the dance and it's history and create a living
timeline of the dance from it's beginning to the present day? Actually,
we can! Yesterday I created
The
History of Stepping Project. It's sort of like the Wikipedia of
Stepping (at least that's the vision), where everyone can contribute,
and everyone can benefit. Remember, there is no piece of information
about this dance that is insignificant. Any information related to
stepping in any form is accepted on
The
History of Stepping Project. As you will see on the site, there are
many ways to participate, even if you don't have any information to
share... please visit
The
History of Stepping Project website. Remember to bookmark the site
and share it with others, it's for the good of the dance! Please spread
the word!
